A call for philanthropy to act as a connector and “intermediary”, to be more than funding alone, and the importance of “opening doors for others to walk through” were among the powerful themes that rang through the conversations at CSP's Expanding the Tent: Collaboration for Transformation event in May.

When Project Janszoon was launched in 2012, it represented something new for Aotearoa. Supported by Neal and Annette Plowman of CSP founding Partners, NEXT Foundation, it was the country's first large-scale National Park conservation partnership. Fourteen years later, the ecological results are remarkable, but the most enduring outcome may be something less tangible.

We’ve recently had the privilege of incubating two collaborative giving initiatives - Aotearoa Lifecourse Fund, and AMPLIFY - Financial Education Fund. Both have involved givers telling us they’re interested in exploring partnerships and collaborations as a way of contributing to meaningful change in a cause area.
